“Salt and Light” podcast: Who we are and Why we do what we do!
If you are bored with Catholicism, don’t understand the Mass or the point, find the Gospels confusing or flat or uninteresting, want to learn more about the Church who Jesus himself established, or want to learn how to have a rich and fruitful relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, let us give it a shot!!
Our goal is to NEVER be boring and ALWAYS leave you with something you didn’t know before through Scriptural references, Latin, Greek, and Hebrew translations that illuminate the deeper meanings contained in God’s Word, Catholic teaching from the Catechism and other Encyclicals, writings from the Saints, and much more….. and also make you laugh along the way. So pour some bourbon, make a cup of coffee, or whatever floats your boat, and check out Chuck and Annie Fulkerson!
Who are Chuck and Annie?
Chuck is the President and Founder of IIE Financial (podcast also on BreadBox and more info at www.iiefinancial.com), a uniquely Catholic Christian financial advisor and investment strategist based on Houston, Texas. Chuck and Annie have structured the firm to serve clients according to St. Thomas Aquinas’ definition for “Love”- Willing the good of another. He is a dynamic speaker and presenter and has delivered content to thousands of traders and investors all over the globe in his various roles in business over the last ten years. He has a great passion for helping others realize their dreams, and he has a true servant’s heart with a well defined ability for relating to others. As a Knight of Columbus, he’s always the first to volunteer and the last to ask for any credit. Annie often refers to him tongue-and-cheek as “Midas”, because so often in business and personal endeavors, when anyone hands any situation to Chuck, he has a unique ability to turn a dismal situation into not only a good one but one that continues to bear fruit. When weighing the three transcendentals- True, Good, and Beautiful- Chuck has a natural God-given ability to communicate the Good and Beautiful to others glorifying God by his life. (Obviously, Annie wrote this about Chuck… he’s amazing.)
Annie’s primary vocation is as a home school educator. A decade in the making, Annie worked as a mechanical engineer in the nuclear Navy industry and then in the commercial power industry as God groomed her. She began homeschooling their two young boys when they began preschool. Her days are consumed with educating the boys in the Catholic Faith- Scripture and Tradition, grammar, mathematics, science, history, english, classical literature, geography, Latin, Spanish, and more. Her nights are another story! Annie is a voracious reader, specifically in the non-fiction genres. Chuck often finds books stashed in the most unlikely cupboards in their house! Her passion for learning has led her to advance her formal education in Theology, Philosophy, Church History, and Apologetics through the new St. Thomas Institute. She felt that such a great passion could not have been placed on her heart for selfish reasons, and so she now conducts Catholic Apologetics classes in person and live online and delivers talks to various groups on topics ranging from the Real Presence in the Eucharist to True Feminine Authority in the Church.
Chuck and Annie Fulkerson welcome you to be Salt and Light, glorifying the Lord by your life!

This week we celebrated the Liturgy of Light with the children who have spent the year experiencing the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program at our parish and growing in love for Our Lord. The Liturgy of Light is like a mini-Easter Vigil, and our son read the Gospel for the ceremony. In this episode, we chat about the ceremony, the Gospel (Mk16:1-7), and what we can learn from the angels.
