The Frank Friar – Episode 159: Seeing His Face Via the Fast

Pain is something we all must deal with during our lives.  Fasting plays a key role in our understanding of pain.  How we see impacts how we move.  If our gaze is upon Christ, we move with him.  If our gaze in other things we move away from him.  Fasting impacts and shapes our ability to gaze upon Christ and thank him.  These are just a few things I speak about in the episode today.

The Frank Friar – Episode 157: Waking Up to Dullness

Lent is almost upon us!  Recently, I received a lot of requests to talk about fasting and other practices for lent.  Some of these things asked of me seem to be in conflict.  Today, I talk about the impact different things have on us in our lives.  The remedy to that dullness that arises is fasting.  Happy Lent!

The Frank Friar – Episode 156: The Hands, The Eucharist, and Feeding the Hungry (Part 2)

Here is part two of my conference I gave the parish’s eucharistic minsters and lectors.  I am still following the logic and danger of familiarity touched upon in part one.  In this episode I talk about the use of our heads during Mass.  I bring in insights from St. Cyril of Jerusalem (one of my favorite saints).  From that point I talk about how we continue to feed people, while also being prepared for the heavenly wedding feast.  Enjoy!

The Frank Friar – Episode 155: The Alb, The Mass, and the Victorious People (Part 1)

This is my first two-part episode. It arises from a conference I gave to the parish’s eucharistic ministers and lectors.  These were originally given in Spanish.  I did a few changes to help convey my understandings.  Today, I talk about the Alb, in the context of the mass and the book of revelation.  Enjoy!
